Start Just One Thing to make Feeding Your Family Easier in the New Year
Starting a new calendar year is a natural time to feel motivated to start new projects and mindsets. Our first respective attempts at making a list of to-dos for the new year got to be overwhelming and unwieldy. So, we stepped back and decided to focus on a smaller list. And now we make the same suggestion to you: just start with one thing to make feeding your family easier this year. Pick something from the list below or determine your own helpful goal, and get started this week. Completing one of these projects will make you more efficient and effective and may just give you the momentum that you need to try a second goal…later.
10 Things that will make it easier to feed your family this year – PICK ONE:
- Quiz your family on their favorite meals and make a list for reference when you need inspiration.
- Clean out your pantry and re-stock it for the new year (tape this list in your pantry).
- Make a list of specific ways you can reduce your household’s food waste.
- Make a meal plan for the coming week (here’s a template).
- Try a new recipe (use the search box on Table365.com for lots of recipes).
- Find new sources of inspiration (Table365 on Pinterest).
- Buy a new kitchen tool that will make meal prep easier (check out this list of kitchen gear).
- Make a double batch of soup and freeze some for easy warm up later.
- Spend time with friends who like to cook, and get new ideas from watching them in their kitchen.
- Make meal prep a family affair. Choose an appropriate menu and enjoy the process of making it together.
Carpe Diem!
Sharon and Kimberly,
I have not ever sat down and asked my family what their favorite dinners are. I’ve just assumed that I know. But it could be a great dinner conversation. And I could learn a lot from it. So I am planning on doing goal number one and seeing how that might help my menu planning in the new year. Thanks for making it easy!
Also, I know my husband is a huge fan of any kind of hash so can’t wait to try those recipes!
Here’s to great success for you in the new year, Table 365!
