I love figuring out ways to make things more efficient, especially in the kitchen. I have found that kitchen shears can make some tasks a little quicker since you don’t have to pull out a knife and cutting board. Aside from using them as you would any other scissor for food-related items, I like using kitchen shears to cut up tortillas (we use them in scrambled eggs), herbs, quesadillas, and even pizza. (I used to do a lot more of this when my kids were younger.)
I’m pretty pedestrian in how I use my kitchen shears. I use them to open packages and other common uses for scissors. I like to use them to trim fresh herbs into small pieces for garnish or additions to dishes. My favorite pair of kitchen shears unhinge into two pieces for thorough cleaning in the dishwasher.
