Find of the week: HOMEMADE TACO SEASONING
I use Kimberly’s recipe for homemade taco seasoning for all kinds of dishes. I add it to black beans, ground beef, shredded chicken, eggs, and even rice. Making your own seasoning is as easy as mixing the ingredients. If you don’t have all of these spices, you can get just the amount you need for the recipe in the bulk section. I like to make a large batch and keep it in a glass jar because I use it so frequently. Unlike pre-mixed, packaged seasonings, homemade seasonings contain a lot less salt and no preservatives. In addition to tasting delicious, you can customize the flavors (such as the amount of chili powder or cayenne) to taste.
Kimberly’s Taco Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon course salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Mix all ingredients together. Adjust to taste. Enjoy!
*Make Ahead: double or triple the recipe to have extra on-hand.
